Building Community Services that Grow Local Economies:
Application for Capacity Building Assistance
TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND GRANTS TO BE AWARDED TO CREATE NEW JOBS AND SPUR ECONOMIC GROWTH IN FIVE NORTHEAST GEORGIA COUNTIES
ACTION, Inc., Community Connection of Northeast Georgia, Inc., and The Institute for Nonprofit Organizations in the School of Social Work at UGA are pleased to release the Application for Capacity Building Assistance for the “Building Community Services that Grow Local Economies” (BCS) Project. Applications are now being accepting from qualified community and faith-based nonprofit organizations located in and serving Barrow, Clarke, Elbert, Greene, and Jackson Counties.
Over the 2 year term, 60 secular and faith-based local nonprofit agencies will receive one-on-one technical assistance and training designed to improve their services to individuals who need jobs and opportunities. Additionally, a total of 30 of the 60 nonprofit agencies will receive financial assistance through a competitive selection process.

There will be two Cycles for assistance. Applications for the first Cycle are due January 22, 2010. The second Cycle will be announced Fall 2010.
