AACF's First Donor Advised Fund is established by Benson, Inc.
Benson’s Inc., the parent company of Motel Enterprises,
is paving the way for future generations of Athens and
wants you to take part. Benson’s Inc. is proud to establish
the first fund for the Athens Area Community Foundation
(AACF).
Created in the spring of 2008, the foundation is a public charity seeking long-term benefits for the community. The goal of the AACF is to bring people together who care deeply about the Athens area and who seek to improve the quality of life and economic well being of all community members. The foundation encourages donors to establish funds that serve as the community’s “collective savings account”; from this account, grants can be made to local charities and organizations.
To build the Benson Fund, Motel Enterprises will donate $1 per hotel room rented on football weekends, beginning with the 2008 season! Motel Enterprises is asking all guests to match or exceed the dollar-per-room donation.
