  • Spring 2010 Requests for Proposals

    Athens Area Community Foundation (AACF) aims to distribute $25,000 to local organizations in April 2010. Grants will average between $1,000 and $5,000 each. Applications are due March 1, 2010.

  • Fall 2009 Grants - Athens Area Community Foundation makes $25,000 Available to Local Organizations

    The Athens Area Community Foundation has awarded grants totaling $25,000 to help 14 local organizations address needs in the areas of youth development, economic & workforce development, access to health care, and building community. Since incorporation in January 2008, AACF has made over $75,000 in grants to community organizations; helped establish seven Donor Advised Funds for local families and businesses; received 501(c)3 tax-exempt status; and has begun building an operating endowment to ensure the organization is self-sustaining in perpetuity.

    Dexter Fisher just created our first family Donor Advised Fund. He has named it The Vivian and Mamie Fisher Memorial Fund in honor of his wife and mother.
